PACKING FOR SUMMER CAMP

how  to  pack

Picture
Days at MBC are busy, and can get messy! Campers are engaged in a variety of activities daily, from athletics to waterfront, OL to arts and crafts. In the afternoons and evenings, all campers shower and change for the evening program. Please keep this in mind when packing, to ensure you have enough clothing! Visit our A Day at Camp page to learn more about the program.

MBC does not provide laundry for campers, and campers should come prepared with enough clothing to last the full session.

dress  code

At MBC, our priority with clothing is safety and functionality. As an Orthodox Christian camp, modesty guides our choices. Additionally, we wish to cultivate an environment within which clothing trends and brands do not impact peer relationships at camp. Our dress code is as follows:

Tops and bottoms should allow for freedom of movement, and provide appropriate coverage during a variety of athletic activities. Undergarments should not be visible at any time. Bottoms should be approximately fingertip length. Swimwear should be functional and provide full coverage (no bikinis, speedos, or cut-outs). All graphics & designs on clothing should be appropriate for an Orthodox Christian camp setting.

Campers dressed inappropriately for the setting or activity will be asked to change.

ALL sessions:

WACKY WEDNESDAY!
Encourage your child to wear a silly and mismatched outfit! Think different colored clothes, random accessories, and anything that looks a little crazy.

BLAST FROM THE PAST
Help your child choose an outfit, hairdo, or accessories that represents a fun decade from the past, like disco or the 90s.

Session   2:

4TH OF JULY & CHRISTMAS IN JULY
4th of July: Show off your patriotism!!! Red, white, and blue are encouraged, or anything representing the land of the free and home of the brave!
Christmas in July: Help your child pack some festive, summer-friendly Christmas-themed clothing. Think red and green shirts, maybe a Santa hat or some reindeer antlers!

Session   3:

UNDER THE SEA
Dress in ocean colors like blues, greens, and silvers, or consider dressing as sea creatures like fish or mermaids/mermen. You can also bring ocean-themed accessories like goggles, floaties, etc.
