MEET OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

His  Eminence  metropolitan  methodios
Spiritual  Leader

His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios is the spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston.
In 1990, His Eminence had the vision of building a camp where Greek Orthodox Youth from across the New England area could gather, share and enhance their faith and cultural experience, strengthen their relationship with God and establish lifelong friendships. Thanks to his tireless efforts and visionary leadership, the  Metropolis of Boston Camp and the Saint Methodios Faith and Heritage Center have flourished.

Panos  coufos
camp Director

Pano first attended the Metropolis of Boston Camp when he was eight years old and has taken part in every single youth and young adult ministry offering of the Metropolis of Boston. For 8 years, he has served as a staff member with about half of those years serving as Program Director. Camp was the most influential place and most formative experience of his childhood and young adulthood, and he is dedicated to ensuring that all who step foot onto the camp grounds leave feeling like MBC is their home. He brings a renewed sense of enthusiasm and excitement with him and is most excited about the wonderful campers, staff, clergy, and alumni that make MBC as great as it is!

Katerina Barbas
Girls  director

Katerina (Kat) cannot wait to begin serving in a different capacity this summer! Katerina lives and works in Massachusetts, currently pursuing her masters in special education at UMASS Boston. She has gained expertise working with students in various elementary school grades and settings, with each experience impacting and shaping the course of her life. “Having grown up at camp, I’ve found MBC to be a safe and encouraging environment, where I have been challenged to grow. It is only recently that I’ve begun to understand just how critical MBC is in the development of youth and young adults. We get to encounter Christ everyday through the relationships built with one another, through growing in our faith, and in our relationship with God. In the fast pace world of stressors that we live in today, at camp we get to experience peace, stillness, and everlasting light that we carry in the outside world.”
