His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, Spiritual Leader
His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios is the spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston. Twenty-six years ago, His Eminence had the vision of building a camp where Greek Orthodox Youth from across the New England area could gather, share and enhance their faith and cultural experience, strengthen their relationship with God and establish lifelong friendships. Thanks to his tireless efforts, and his visionary leadership the Metropolis of Boston Camp and the Saint Methodios Faith and Heritage Center have flourished. |
Panos Coufos, Camp Director
Pano first attended the Metropolis of Boston Camp when he was eight years old and has taken part in every single youth and young adult ministry offering of the Metropolis of Boston. For 8 years, he has served as a staff member with about half of those years serving as Program Director. Camp was the most influential place and most formative experience of his childhood and young adulthood, and he is dedicated to ensuring that all who step foot onto the camp grounds leave feeling like MBC is their home. He brings a renewed sense of enthusiasm and excitement with him and is most excited about the wonderful campers, staff, clergy, and alumni that make MBC as great as it is! |
Demetra Zouzas, Girls' Director
Demetra (also known as “Meech”) Zouzas has been attending the Metropolis of Boston Camp since she was a JOY camper at 10-years-old. Demetra is currently finishing her master’s degree at Fitchburg State University, while also pursuing a certificate in Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. In her spare time, you can find Demetra reading some poetry, visiting local shops, and of course, canoeing in our very own Clement Pond! |
Jack Bushell, Boys' Director
Jack is more than ecstatic to kick off this summer! Hailing from Fall River, Jack has been a part of the MBC family for 12 years and has served as a staff member for 6. A graduate of Hellenic College, Jack is beginning his second year at Holy Cross as he studies towards his Master of Divinity! Jack brings a smile wherever he goes, and to whoever he meets. He specifically enjoys playing guitar, chanting, dancing and spending time with people. Jack looks to provide everyone at camp this year with a listening ear, an open heart and a whole lot of excitement! |
Costa Vergados, Program Director
As a recent graduate of UMass Amherst, Costa is ready to bring the same enthusiasm and wonder to the MBC program that UMass Amherst brings to their dining program, which happens to have been rated number one in dining by the Princeton Review for the past 4 years in a row. His favorite animal is the humpback whale and one of his many role models is Laskarina Bouboulina, a Greek revolution hero. There is a special place reserved in Costa’s heart for olive oil, Market Basket, and youth ministries, which he proudly shares with MBC every year. Get ready for an MBC experience like no other, because this summer will be a summer to remember! #MBC2020 |
