MEET THIS YEAR'S STAFF!

Summer Staff 2019

Picture
Kristina Anastasiades
Kristina was born and raised in Towson, Maryland where she attends St. Nicholas in Baltimore, MD. While studying Music Education (K-12) at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music, she attends the St. George Cathedral in Hartford, CT. Kristina was immediately in awe of MBC after she walked onto the camp grounds for her first OCF Fall Regional Retreat.  Kristina then went to meet some of the MBC staff and witnessed their genuine love for MBC and all that Christ has willed to be done through it. On the last night of the OCF retreat, walking back to her cabin, she looked up at the night sky and gazed at the brilliant stars shining down on her. Never before had she seen such beauty in the night sky. She knew then, that this wouldn’t be the last time she was in this magical place. Giving back to MBC and representing all that it stands for is the greatest privilege Kristina could be given, and she hopes to bring the magic of our Orthodox faith to her campers!

Picture
Joanna Archambault
After spending nine wonderful years as a camper at MBC, Joanna is more than excited to come back to camp, but this time as a staff member! Joanna recently graduated from Andover High School and is off to Saint Anselm College in the fall to study nursing and play field hockey. Joanna hopes that one day she can become a camp nurse so she can spend every summer at her second home. Joanna enjoys a wide variety of things, but some of her favorites include the great outdoors, ice cream, photography, hugs, a good book, board games, and anything vintage. Joanna is absolutely thrilled to be back at camp this summer and cannot wait to see many faces, both new and old!

Picture
Maria Barbas
Maria is going into her junior year at Salve Regina University. Camp has been a huge part of her life ever since she was born. It is important to her that as a staff member, she can give campers the experience that she had at camp growing up. Camp is fun, and she met some of her best friends here! She also really felt that it made her much stronger in her faith, and kept her on the right path during the school year. She hope that this summer experience will be one to remember for your kids!

Picture

In her free time, you can probably catch her running or surfing, and she just loves being outside! Now that she has that Ionian Village energy from IV Next, she hopes to bring it back to camp and give her campers as much fun this summer as she had in her years at MBC!!

She’s fun, funny, and funny looking; ask any of her many section members and teammates. Safety always comes first, as she is a certified lifeguard, flight attendant, and construction worker, and will always make sure the scene is safe and locate the nearest emergency exit (which may be behind you) before commencing the fun. She’s an actual JetBlue TrueBlue member and an honorary JetBlue Mosaic member, after flying them 4 times in a month earlier this year. If you see a girl walking around in floral printed shorts, mid-calfs, Sperry's, and a bucket hat, wave hi and throw a ball her way.  She’d like to use this time to congratulate the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots on their respective Championship wins, the Boston College Marching Band on its 100th season, and her brother Mike on getting married in September. She’s coming back for year FORE! on staff and, similar to her bio, looking to make it the best one yet!
