Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer  opportunities

We rely on our volunteers to make camp sessions run smoothly! We are always in need of Clergy, Medical Staff and Camper Support Staff. Read on to learn more about how to get involved!

Clergy  &  Pastoral  Staff

We are always in need of Clergy to lead the divine services and hear confessions, as well as others with a theological education to help maintain the chapel, offer catechism style sessions, reflections, and engage with the campers through their week at camp.
Ideally, clergy and pastoral staff:
  • Are available for a full session of camp
  • Attend during a time when their children/relatives are not campers
  • Are invested in building meaningful and lasting relationships with the staff and campers while present at MBC
  • Prepared for long and busy days
  • MUST complete all necessary background check and training materials prior to arrival at camp
  • Flexible, go with the flow, and enthusiastic!
Please reach out to the camp office at [email protected] with interest!

Medical Staff

Each week, we need several Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Doctors present to provide medical triage and care, including distribution and management of daily medications, and emergency responses.
Medical staff will have access to our consultant physician, who provides standing PRN orders, consults on specific cases, and can prescribe as needed. Our Medical Coordinator will act as a liaison between medical staff and the leadership team, and provide training and information about camp policies and procedures.
Ideally, medical staff:

  • Are available for a full session of camp
  • Attend during a time when their children/relatives are not campers
  • Prepared for a fast paced and busy days
  • Complete triage and determination for need for off-site care
  • Prepared to be on-call overnight
  • MUST complete all necessary background check and training materials prior to arrival at camp
  • Flexible, go with the flow, and enthusiastic!
Please reach out to the camp office at [email protected] with interest!

Camper  Support  Staff

Each week, we host 1-2 Camper Support Professionals (CSPs) who act as consultants to the leadership team and cabin staff.  These are typically mental health professionals, special educators, related service providers, or other clinicians with a background in behavior management, sensory processing, social emotional learning, or other related areas.
CSPs will work with the camper support coordinator for orientation to the camp program and structure, and work in collaboration with the leadership team, medical staff, kitchen, and cabin staff to support campers with additional support needs.
Ideally, CSPs:
  • Are available for a full session of camp
  • Attend during a time when their children/relatives are not campers
  • Prepared to be fully engaged in the program and present/accessible to staff and campers as needed
  • Willing to incorporate the MBC ethos of care (not a clinically therapeutic environment/time for intensive intervention)
  • MUST complete all necessary background check and training materials prior to arrival at camp
  • Flexible, go with the flow, and enthusiastic!
Please reach out to the camp office at [email protected] with interest!

Other  Volunteer  opportunities

We recognize that many others have gifts and talents they wish to offer to the camp program! Often, due to the physical limitations of our space we're not in a position to host additional volunteers. However, we encourage you to reach out directly to the camp office with any questions. We are unable to host parents of campers as volunteers during their child's stay at camp.
