The (Embracing Children (EC) Program serves children with disabilities, including development, physical, and behavioral needs, by working to modify the camp program according to their individual needs.
FOR FAMILIES
If your child requires significant accommodation and/or supports, please reach out to the camp no later than April 1 to ensure that we are able to work together to secure proper training, staffing, and support for your camper. While we strive to support all campers to the fullest extent, we are limited by our facilities and physical environment; we are committed to working with you to explore all non-family based accommodations and support. Our camp is proud to offer 24/7 Medical Care (Nurse or Doctor onsite) who handle medication management and first aid. Our MBC Kitchen is also able to accommodate for some food allergies. MBC is not a therapeutic setting and is not equipped to support IEP goals, etc., but wants to ensure all children have the opportunity to participate in our camping ministry. We welcome familiar PCA staff that can support campers' needs at camp, provided they are prepared to complete the Archdiocese mandated youth protection training and follow all MBC policies while at camp.
FOR VOLUNTEERS
MBC is always looking for special educators and disability professionals/students to be able to accommodate as many children and needs as possible. As a private institution, we rely solely on the support of volunteers to offer accommodations. Please consider offering your time to potential campers who could greatly benefit from your service! Reach out to...if you are interested in volunteering your time this summer.
