CABIN LIFE

home  away  from  home

While at MBC, Cabins serve as the camper's home. Cabin mates become brothers and sisters, and staff become trusted mentors and role models. While much of the camp day is spent as a whole community, time together as a cabin is special. Together, young people learn to live communally, and care for shared spaces. They sing, dance, laugh, pray, and grow together as a small family within the MBC family. With the guidance of the staff, leadership team, and clergy, they grow in their faith, in their own relationship with Jesus Christ, and as a whole person. Campers are met with a developmentally appropriate program that supports their needs, and meets them where they are, considering the social experiences of their age group. Throughout this transformative experience, the rhythm of the cabin anchors campers.

Age  groups

JOY

Picture
Our youngest friends! JOY campers entering grades 3 - 6 learn about being away from home for the first time. They experience age-appropriate progamming and build strong connections with their staff and peers.

SNAP

Picture
Entering middle school, SNAP campers are heading into 7 - 8th grades, and beginning to find their way in the crowd. SNAP campers learn about communal living, and enacting the pillars in their daily lives.

Crackle

Picture
Campers entering grades 9-10 make up our Crackle crew! This group is facing the dynamics of adolescence and high school, and learning how the teachings of the church apply to their lives as they navigate friendships, personal growth, and planning for the future.

pop

Our oldest group, POP campers are entering grades 11 - 12. Many of these young people have been coming to camp since they were eight years old. Now, they are taking on leadership roles at camp, learning what it means to mentor younger campers, and solidifying their personal spirituality before heading into the adult world.

Bunk Requests

Picture

We understand that coming to camp can be nerve wracking, especially for the first time! We welcome campers to submit bunk requests in their application forms, but remind families that cabins are built by gender, age, and grade. As such, we cannot guarantee bunk requests, and ask families to trust us as we build cabins that are developmentally appropriate, supportive to camper formation, and lead by staff skilled in facilitating  group dynamics and relationship building. Camp is the perfect place to meet new friends! We ask campers to come to camp with an open mind and willingness to authentically encounter the other incredible young people coming to camp with them.
